“E tu Brabis?”

image image This is my try at an online tutorial! I saw it and loved it. I wanted a messier version than what they showed.I used some texture builder from the Matrix Style link line to make the hair messier and texturized.

To recreate this look style the hair on your natural part. Pull back a small section of hair from both sides of the face, and secure in a pony tail holder at the back of the head tightly. Flip this small pony tail partly under so that you can spilt the pony tail into a heart shape above the holder leaving the remainder of the hair below the holder in loose fall. Repeat as many times until you run out of hair, or create desired look. I finished the hair off with a double strand knot bun at the bottom.  I found some great ideas at this website so I thought I would share!

Matrix SOBOOST Model

My newest color model is displaying new SOBOOST Color Additions from Matrix. I used 4RV+ on her new growth with Red SOBOOST and Copper SOBOOST for her ombre. What beautiful rich colors were achieved using the new SOBOOST color additions. The SOBOOST range can be used alone or in conjunction with both SOCOLOR and COLORSYNC lines from Matrix to enhance/neutralize any color.

This was the first time I had ever used the SOBOOST color additions, and the result was fantastic. I used them alone to see how vibrant they would be so I will now know exactly how they will brighten my SOCOLOR and COLORSYNC formulas.

Knit-Bomb Headband

I hand knitted this headband with extensions for this shoot to create something new. It was extremely hard, but if you have patience and can knit go for it! As you all know I like to do a few crazy things every once in a while just to keep you all entertained. Let me know what you think! I used an embossing iron to enhance her texture for plenty of body. Creating almost a beehive style in the back.

What do you do when your client wants a change…and not a small change. A LIFE CHANGING CHANGE? You say yes of course (as long as her hair is healthy enough and you both have the time to achieve her desired look). I love using my artistic side so this challenge was one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as well.

DSC02290  This was my client when she first walked in….I had alot of work on my hands to turn her into the “Phoenix”. I had to hand pick out her low lights, and her new growth and reverse ombre her hair to get it to look like this. I used different formulas of Matrix Light Master and VLight to achieve the healthy blondes you see below.

DSC02295 You can see reverse ombre means the lightest part of the hair is at the new growth of the hair while it gradually gets darker to a medium blonde at her ends. Her Occipital region I kept her natural level 6 for the final coloring stage as seen below.

Using the new Matrix Color Graphics Yellow, Orange and Magenta. I was able to Ombre everything above the Occipital from a yellow to a gradual Orange. I used the Magenta on the Occipital region for the contrast. Since Matrix Color Graphics is a Semi Permanent color you can see how shiny and healthy her hair is, even after all the chemical changes we did on her hair. I LOVE MY MATRIX. Stay tuned for more Mere’s Hair 🙂

Vineyard Venus

Recently I was invited to a toga party, but I didn’t have time to make the toga. What s a girl to do…HER HAIR! Who needs to spend money on a last minute costume when your hair can do the job for you. To create this look I marcel curled the top half of my head (pinning each curl up after to cool into that shape) and left the lower half straight. After brushing the hair at the front of my face straight I randomly teased/pinned these curls into a messy bun on the back top half of my head. You can add the vine leaves like I did for effect or you can use your imagination for differing appearances.Vineyard Venus DSC01440 DSC01441
